Synopsis
The origins of the Irish are documented in this installment of the series, which explores civilizations of historic importance. Because their vulnerable coasts were subject to raids by both Vikings and Celts, the Irish built stone forts for protection. They were made up of three principal groups: warriors, farmers, and druids. Dramatizations help to bring the subjects of these programs to life, and on-site filming provides perspective. The ruins remaining from these civilizations are also shown. In Ancient Tribes: The Irish, details about Brian Boru, who united the Irish in 1014 A.D., are given.
