A&E takes this opportunity to visit several of America's most stately residences, focusing on their exceptional gardens. Located 30 miles south of San Francisco is the 654-acre Filoli estate. Originally built for the Bourn family, the expansive estate includes a 16-acre garden area. Viewers can also see the arboretum and gardens that enhance the grounds of Maymont in Virginia. Not to be outdone are the many different types of flowers that blossom year-round at the Bellingrath Home in Alabama. There, visitors can see everything from Taiwan Cherries, snapdragons, delphiniums, and daffodils to Easter Lilies, azaleas, roses, and marigolds. Even chrysanthemums, bougainvillea, and crepe myrtles blossom there at different times of the year.
