A look at the estates of enterprising lumber barons who turned their empires into mansions that rivaled those of the industrial barons. Martin Pattison established a lumber empire in Superior, Wisconsin where he built a 42-room Victorian mansion on Lake Superior; John Kimberly of Neenah, Wisconsin built a French-style chateau in California with the fortune he made turning lumber into paper; and Kimberly's second daughter, Jessie, married another Wisconsin lumber baron and created a 15th century English Tudor Style Manor in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
