Joaquin Pardavo is both star and director of the Mexican drama Adios Juventud (Farewell to Youth). Pardavo is cast as Dr. Medinitta, who 20 years after graduating from med school is reunited with his old pal Dr. Montes (Luis Ablas). The two former classmates reminisce about the girl they both wooed back in their undergraduate days. The film withholds the ultimate fate of the beauteous Juanita (Manolita Saval) until the last reel, allowing the poignancy of the denouement to remain with the viewer long after the images have faded from the screen. Adios Juventud is entertaining enough, but at 118 minutes it does begin to wear on the viewer after a while.
