Synopsis
This Gaumont comedy was little more than a filler, designed as a companion feature to the more ambitious Gambler's Doom. The titular race attracts some dozen or so contestants, who hop into sacks for the duration of the contest. Their movements amusingly impeded, the contestants stumble about, fall over, and bump into one another throughout the picture. Upon reaching the finish line, the bag-racers all collapse into a writhing heap of humanity. Some of the "stunt" work in A Bag Race was quite remarkable -- and no doubt fairly painful.
