The sea-shore in this 4-minute subject was somewhere along the coast of France. Ostensibly a study of European swimming customs, the film was actually an excuse to display several female bathers in what was then considered scandalous swimwear. Why, these ladies actually showed their bare ankles! Can Doomsday be far behind? The film also showed the purpose and operation of the portable bathing houses then in vogue: The swimmer would enter the tiny mobile house and change clothes, whereupon the house would be dragged down to the seashore, permitting the occupant to hop into the water without ever touching the sand.
