This program is the companion episode to PBS' animated children's series Adventures From the Book of Virtues, which examines some character qualities for young ones to develop. The episodes are based on the best-selling anthology The Book of Virtues, by former U.S. Education Secretary William Bennett. Annie and Zach are the show's animated human stars, who learn of virtue from their animal mentors, whose names -- Aristotle, Socrates, Aurora, and Plato -- reflect their philosophic nature. In this program, Plato the Buffalo helps parents consider issues of character development by examining the choices that were made by Annie and Zach during the course of the series.
