Synopsis
Based on a true story about two African-American teens who live on the South side of Chicago, in one of the most impoverished ghettos in the United States. David Isay, a producer from National Public Radio (NPR), selects these teens to do a sound portrait about their life in the ghetto. Under Isay's guidance and mentorship, what they deliver is an emotional depiction of a slice of life that is both disturbing and remarkable. Following their first award-winning NPR documentary, the teens follow up with another radio story on the murder of a five-year-old boy who was dropped to his death by two young children in their ghetto. These two documentaries, "Ghetto Life 101" and "Remorse: The 14 Stories of Eric Morse," went on to win several awards including the Peabody Award. LeAlan and Lloyd are the youngest journalists ever to receive this honor.
