Synopsis
Hosted by veteran news anchor Jennifer Whitney, AIDS in the 21st Century chronicles the ups, downs, and daily realities of living with AIDS through personal accounts of people infected with AIDS and HIV. One of them is 38-year-old Luwanda Strickland, who speaks about her struggle with the virus and its affect on raising her two children; others are Vince Gaither, a gay-rights activist, and Robert Marler, who contracted the virus through IV drug use. Also featured are controversial web developer "Bareback" Jack, whose website provides a meeting place for gay men in search of sex, and Cleve Jones, the founder of the AIDS Memorial Quilt.
