A series for the Fox Broadcasting Company (FBC). Based on S.E. Hinton's book and the 1983 theatrical release of the same title, directed by Francis Coppola. The 90-minute pilot picks up where the motion picture left off in the fall of 1966. The story revolves around the lives of the "greasers," a group of impoverished youths banded together because of their socio-economic class, who face constant conflict with the kids from affluent backgrounds called "Socs." After the untimely death of their parents, the Curtis brothers struggle to make ends meet and keep the family together.
