Synopsis
The series, set in San Francisco during the 1870s, depicts the exploits of Paladin, a former army officer turned professional gunman who hires himself out to people unable to protect themselves. Headquartered in the Hotel Carlton, he is distinguished by two trademarks: a black leather holster that bears the symbol of a Paladin (the white chess knight), and a calling card that reads: "Have Gun -- Will Travel. Wire Paladin, San Francisco."
