Two boyhood Chicago friends, one with prison time under his belt and the other opting for the hardworking thrall of the construction business, come together after years apart and strive to hold tight to the different directions they've chosen in Miramax's adaptation of Marcus Sakey's acclaimed 2007 novel The Blade Itself. Gone Baby Gone's filmmaking team of Ben Affleck and Sean Bailey handle producing duties for the picture, with Aaron Stockard providing the script.
