7 Things We Want To See In ‘Sex And The City 3’

Just like a little black dress, rumors of a third Sex and the City movie never go out of style. While promoting her new series Divorce, Sarah Jessica Parker hinted again at the possibility of a Sex And The City 3. “I will say that the idea, it rests in the butler’s pantry,” she told CBS’ Sunday Morning. “It’s not on the table, but somebody is holding it fairly nearby.”

Parker also revealed the fact that her cast mates are into the idea as well. “I don’t think any of us have said no,” she stated. “I don’t know whether it’s a series or the movie. I think that remains an open question and discussion that will continue until it’s been resolved. I think that’s always a possibility, definitely.”

While Parker’s comments don’t necessarily mean that a third Sex and the City is on the way, we’re still preparing to jump into our knock-off Manolos and make a b-line to the movie theater. After all, if all the co-stars can get on board, what’s stopping it from happening?

Both Sex and the City films did an excellent job in filling in where the series left off, but there’s still a whole lot more story to tell. Here are some things we’re hoping for in Sex and the City 3.

1. A Gorgeous And Romantic Setting Like Rome, London Or Even Copenhagen

Sex and the City has taken us to New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Mexico and Abhu Dhabi, so Sex and the City 3 wouldn’t feel complete without a trip to an exciting, new city. Better yet, could we see the girls travel through a couple European cities? Imagine what kind of trouble Samantha would get into in a place like Amsterdam. Imagine the harmless but maybe not-so-harmless crush Carrie could find in Rome. Yes, please! Bring on the hunky men with cute accents.

2. It’s Charlotte’s Turn To Have Some Trouble With Love

Not that we wish any emotional harm on the sweet, idealistic Charlotte, but in the previous Sex and the City films, the other girls have suffered from great heartache. Carrie was left at the altar, Miranda almost lost the love her life when he cheated and Samantha left her long-time partner, Smith Jerrod. It’s time for Charlotte’s relationship to be shaken up a bit. We’re not asking for a divorce, but maybe for something a bit out of character. Maybe Charlotte is the one who cheats (though we should note, we do hope it all works out in the end).

3. Mr. Big Remains True To Carrie

We’re totally over Big’s indecisive, man-child ways. He left Carrie at the altar, and even after he changed his mind, they argued over and over again about things that made Carrie feel pretty unsettled in their relationship (hello, TV in the bedroom and Chinese takeout). Big has more or less always left Carrie hanging, and without their on-and-off relationship, most of the Sex and the City series wouldn’t have had the same level of drama we love, but enough is enough. Just be happy together or end it for good.

4. If They Can’t Be Happy, It’s Carrie’s Turn To Dump Big

We want big to get his heart broken at least a little. Like we said before, Carrie has bent over backwards to cater to the rich businessman and has always, always accepted him back the second he popped up or said sorry. It’s Carries turn to leave Big in the dust and go after what she wants.

5. Samantha Should Settle Down In A Way That’s Uniquely Her

In Sex and the City, Samantha settled down by unsettling. She left Smith Jerrod when she felt like she was losing a fundamental part of herself. In Sex and the City 3, it’d be nice to see Samantha settle down in a way that’s completely her own. Perhaps she’ll find the open relationship of her dreams and live a life of steamy hookups forever. Maybe she’ll decide to never settle down with someone else and instead adopt a child. We’d just like to feel like Samantha’s story is complete, and it hasn’t felt that way yet.

6. Someone Needs To Get Divorced

The women are at that age, and statistically, two of them should be calling it quits.

7. Last But Not Least, We Need Fashion

It really wouldn’t be a Sex and the City movie without Carrie’s unique sense of style. Please give us all of the wild, high-end designer clothes of our dreams. And shoes. Lots and lots of shoes.
