• Thor Review

"Its scope is large enough to please fans well versed in the source material, but its tone is light enough to make it a mainstream hit."

  • Quantum of Solace Review

Tons of chases and the shortest running time of any 007 flick, you won’t be bored but it’s more Bourne than Bond this time.

  • Under the Same Moon Review

While the political issue of illegal immigration is ever-present, Under the Same Moon succeeds ultimately as a beautifully rendered, unforgettable story of the invincible bond between a mother and son.

  • Pan's Labyrinth Review

A product of singular imagination by a filmmaker at the height of his prowess, Pan's Labyrinth is the kind of gothic fairy tale most movies are not--at once wildly fantastical yet elegantly rich in reality, magically inspiring yet profoundly disturbing.

  • Nacho Libre Review

Hilarious hits outnumber miserable misses enough to give Nacho Libre the same replay value as Napoleon, but “dynamite” it is not.

  • Innocent Voices Review

Mexico’s official entry for Best Foreign Language Film in 2004 finally gets a U.S theatrical release. This brutally honest and gripping film should not be missed, especially for the fine acting of young Carlos Padilla, though those squeamish about seeing 12-year-olds executed should probably stay away.

  • Kingdom of Heaven Review

Between the two of them, Ridley Scott and Orlando Bloom have picked up their swords for Gladiator, Troy and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. And that's the problem. If the intriguing but ultimately derivative Kingdom of Heaven had arrived before these recent period epics, it may have stood a better chance of enthralling us.

In Majorca during the Civil War, four children are witness to the execution of leftists by pro-Franco civilians. In a violent act of revenge, a boy whose father was among the victims kills the son of the leading executioner before committing suicide. Ten years later, the three surviving children are reunited in a sanitorium. The two boys have now become ill and the girl has now become a nun and is working at the sanitorium as a nurse. As time goes by both young men get progressively sicker causing one to become a fanatical religious zealot tormented by his love for the other, and the other in turn becomes more and more violent out of frustration. The nun who is in love with the two men can only watch as events build inexorably to the violent bloody finale.
