$850 Quadrillion ‘Star Wars’ Death Star Weapon Rejected By Obama Administration

ALTIt looks like not everyone got what they were asking for at Christmas.

Despite more than 34,000 people signing an online petition — in which they asked the Obama administration to build a Star Wars inspired Death Star as a way to add jobs and beef-up our national defense — their request has been denied.

Chief of the Science and Space Branch at the White House Office, Paul Shawcross, issued a statement with the reasons why this sort of spacestation “isn’t on the horizon.” The biggest drawback being the cost to construct this movie marvel: a whopping $850 quadrillion. And according to Shawcross, “we’re working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.”

He also notes that the Death Star — which can destroy a planet with a single beam — could be problematic as “the administration does not support blowing up planets.” People of Mars, take note.
