A Definitive Ranking of All 11 ‘SNL’ Movies

1
11. It's Pat: The Movie (1994)
11. It's Pat: The Movie (1994)
Buena Vista Pictures via Everett Collection
Based on the sketch about an androgynous and bumbling nerd, It’s Pat follows the titular character, played by Julia Sweeney, through an “outrageously funny adventure” that wasn’t quite as hilarious as it would have us believe.
2
10. MacGruber (2010)
10. MacGruber (2010)
Universal via Everett Collection
A spoof on action films, MacGruber worked better as an SNL sketch than a big blockbuster with too much ridiculousness. In fact, as far as action movie parodies, we’re more fond of The Lonely Island’s “Cool Guys Don’t Look at Explosions.”
3
9. Coneheads (1993)
9. Coneheads (1993)
Paramount via Everett Collection
Even though Coneheads featured more SNL cast members than many other spinoffs, it wasn’t well-liked. While “The Coneheads” may have been funny for a five minute sketch, they couldn’t keep up the humor for a feature-length film.

8. Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
8. Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
Universal via Everett Collection
Though it's unfortunate, the sequel to The Blues Brothers (which you’ll see later in this list) just didn’t live up to its predecessor. Most fans felt it was unnecessary and we couldn’t agree more.
5
7. The Ladies Man (2000)
7. The Ladies Man (2000)
Everett Collection
A 1970s radio call-in show host touted as the Ladies Man taught callers about the art of seduction. However, The Ladies Man was a bit too early for the pick-up artist boom in pop culture — and couldn’t sustain a whole film by himself.

6. Stuart Saves His Family (1995)
6. Stuart Saves His Family (1995)
Paramount via Everett Collection
Not quite the upbeat comedy fans of SNL were expecting, Stuart Saves His Family flopped across the board. However, we have to applaud the film for trying to tackle a more serious subject like self-help.

5. Superstar (1999)
5. Superstar (1999)
Paramount via Everett Collection
It’s a simple story: a girl just wants to be kissed by a boy. But Molly Shannon brings to life a wonderfully unqiue and hilarious character in Mary Katherine Gallagher. Add in Will Ferrell and you’ve got the makings for one of SNL’s cult hit spinoffs.

4. Wayne's World 2 (1993)
4. Wayne's World 2 (1993)
Paramount via Everett Collection
The SNL spinoff sequel that didn’t flop was, of course, Wayne’s World 2. Some fans even thought it was funnier than the first film, but, in our eyes, even Christopher Walken couldn’t make the sequel better than the original.

3. A Night at the Roxbury (1998)
3. A Night at the Roxbury (1998)
Paramount via Everett Collection
A Night at the Roxbury is probably the biggest cult hit among SNL fans. Though critics were less than impressed, fans loved Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan's synched head-bobbing. Even non-fans will be following suit upon hearing “What Is Love” for years to come.

2. Wayne's World (1992)
2. Wayne's World (1992)
Paramount via Everett Collection
Of course Wayne’s World ranks highly on our list! Mike Myers and Dana Carvey will always be known as Wayne and Garth starring in this timeless take of the struggle between the little guy versus the man. So, keep head banging to “Bohemian Rhapsody” and party on.

1. The Blues Brothers (1980)
1. The Blues Brothers (1980)
Universal via Everett Collection
Easily the most beloved spinoff film from SNL is The Blues Brothers. Starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as Jake and Elwood Blues, this movie is a classic.
