Aishwarya Rai Bachchan marks return to film at Cannes

Bollywood beauty AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN made a stunning return to the big screen at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (19May15) after five years out of the spotlight.
Rai Bachchan was at the annual French event to premiere her new film, Jazbaa (Passion), the actress’ first movie since 2010.
The Indian star took a break to focus on motherhood in 2011 after giving birth to her daughter with husband Abhishek Bachchan.
In her return to the big screen, Jazbaa proved to be one of her most demanding roles yet, as she plays a single mother whose child is kidnapped, and “has to do the impossible” to get her daughter back.
During a press conference following a screening of the film, Rai Bachchan admitted the role wasn’t easy, both physically and emotionally, saying, “Every day when I come to work I kept saying, how am I supposed to wrap my head around the situation like this, on any human level? That to me just seemed tough, demanding, gruelling, challenging and, thereby, so interesting.”
