Alan Alda Joins ‘Wanderlust,’ ‘Tower Heist’

ALT TEXTAlan Alda — a.k.a. the go-to guy in Hollywood if you need an old and wise character (except for maybe Michael Caine) — just got cast in two upcoming films, Tower Heist and Wanderlust.

In Tower Heist, he’ll co-star with Ben Stiller for a comedic role. The film tells the story of a team of maintenance workers at a Manhattan high-rise building who use their knowledge of the building to organize a heist from the penthouse tenant, a Wall Street capitalist — who Alda plays.

In Wanderlust, he’ll star alongside Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, who play a couple that moves out of New York to escape modern society. Alda plays Calvin — the head of a naturist village.

So, these two projects should be nothing short of hilarious. Alda has proved time after time that he’s a very funny, comedic actor (his guest spot on 30 Rock as Alec Baldwin‘s loving, touchy-feely (and liberal) father, anyone?). Although I’m sure that both films won’t be anything mind-blowing or spectacular, they still (especially with his presence) will be fun.
