Anne Hathaway Blasts Off with Her ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Director for ‘Interstellar’

Anne Hathaway is about to embark on “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.” Who would have thought the internet’s least-favorite person would be the one to tackle wormholes, time travel, and physics theories? If this doesn’t win her a little love from the Internet, we don’t know what will.

Hathaway is currently in talks to star opposite with Matthew McConaughey in Interstellar, Christopher Nolan‘s next big blockbuster, Deadline reports. This sci-fi film will reunite her with Nolan after she took on the role of Selina/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

Interstellar originally began in 2006 with an idea from Steven Spielberg, who became intrigued by Caltech physicist and relativity expert Kip S. Thorne and his scientific theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel. Spielberg hired Jonah Nolan to write the script, which then resulted in Christopher Nolan signing on in January after Spielberg left the project. McConaughey signed on as the male lead last week.

Think Hathaway has the scientific chops (or the acting ability sufficient enough to portray scientific chops) to take on this brainy role? Or will Interstellar only provide more fodder for the Hathaway haters? Hit the comments with your thoughts!

As the resident CW-lover on the Hollywood.com staff, she truly believes her Clark Kent/Dean Winchester/Damon Salvatore/Lucas Scott/Oliver Queen/Chuck Bass/Seymour Birkhoff/Wade Kinsella/Vincent Keller/Micah Barnes is out there somewhere, waiting for her, in real life (just go with it). After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism, Sydney has made it her mission to campaign for more shirtless scenes for her favorite CW hunks. You're welcome.
