Awesome News: Amy Poehler & Isla Fisher Wrote A Movie!

Isla FisherYou know those ideas that sound too good to be true? This is one of them. Apparently Isla Fisher and Amy Poehler co-wrote a movie together called Groupies. If I had, say, $30 million lying around (currently I only have $29 million scattered around my apartment) I would fund this movie in a heart beat. Basically it follows Fisher and Poehler as two groupies touring with a rock band. Ummm, yes please? Can this movie be made yesterday?

According to Fisher, after Wedding Crashers she was disappointed with the comedic roles being offered to her (like Confessions of a Shopaholic) so she decided to write her own! You go girl! Somewhere along the way she teamed up with Poehler, and as I said before this is too good to be true. Fisher and Poehler are two of the funniest people (not just women, mind you) alive today. It’s not fair that they’re married to two of the funniest people alive today (Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Arnett, duh winning) and that they all had kids. Oh man, imagine if their kids got together – that alone would be awesome. What if their kids had kids? That would be so much comedic talent pooled together I think the world would implode. Make it happen, Hollywood matchmakers!

Anyway, Groupies might happen, but if it doesn’t Fisher says she has another movie, Life Coach, that could get produced. I hope they both get made because the world needs more Isla Fisher. And for those of you that were unaware of her literary talent, evidently she also used to write romance novels and even had two published. Who knew? Well, now you do. You’re welcome.
