Synopsis

Follows Baby Arabia, one of the oldest Thai-Muslim bands specializing in the sub-cultural genre of Arab-Malay music--the ethnic cross-pollination of Arabian melodies, Malay throbs, Thai luk-thung kicks, and a dash of Latin tempo. The band has been performing sets at mosque fairs, weddings, circumcision ceremonies and non-Islamic parties for 35 years around Bangkok and in Central Thailand. While the music they make inevitably offends some strict Islamists, it also seems to offer a poetic counter-argument to extremism and absolutism.
