Ben Affleck - Batman/Bruce Wayne
Ben Affleck was originally born in Berkeley, California before he moved to Massachusetts when he was 2-years-old. His mother was friends with a casting director and often encouraged Affleck to audition for local commercials and films. She saved his earnings for college in the hopes that he would one day become a teacher because she believed acting was an unreliable profession. His first film role was in a local film called Dark Side of the Street in 1981 but his big break came when he became the star of The Voyage of Mimi in 1984. When Affleck was 8-years-old, he befriended Matt Damon who lived two blocks away from his house. They became close friends during high school and often traveled to New York for acting auditions after being inspired by their drama teacher Gerry Speca. They would later go on to co-write Good Will Hunting and receive major success.
Henry Cavill - Superman/Clark Kent
Henry Cavill was born on the island of Jersey in the British Channel Islands off the French coast of Normandy. He recalls his home to be very beautiful yet very small and wanted to leave because "you see the same people an awful lot." At age thirteen, Cavill got his wish and went off to boarding school where he participated in school stage productions of Shakespeare. However, he recalls boarding school to be a tough time in his life because he didn't fit in well and was often homesick. According to him, he used to be "the short fat one who everyone told to bugger off." Furthermore, he was originally going to join the armed forces as his two older brothers had done once he had received a degree in ancient history or Egyptology. Instead, he went into acting and had his first film role in Laguna in 2001.
Amy Adams - Lois Lane
Amy Adams was born in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy, and eventually moved to Castle Rock, Colorado after her father was discharged from the U.S. Army. She sang in the school choir during her high school years and trained at a local dance company in the hopes of one day becoming a ballerina. However, Adams decided to switch to musical theater because she found ballet was "too disciplined and too restrained" for her. After high school, she worked as a hostess at Hooters for three weeks until she had saved enough money to buy herself a car. She later moved to Chanhassen, Minnesota and worked at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres for three years before landing her first role in Drop Dead Gorgeous in 1999.
Jesse Eisenberg - Lex Luthor
Jesse Eisenberg was born in Queens, New York and began acting at age seven when he starred as Oliver Twist in a children's theater production. Throughout his teenage years, he understudied for the Broadway revival of Summer and Smoke and for the role of Young Scrooge in a musical rendition of A Christmas Carol. At age sixteen, he landed his first professional role in an off-Broadway play called The Gathering. During this time, he attended East Brunswick High School before transferring to the High School of Performing Arts in New York. He later studied at The New School in Greenwich, New York City where he concentrated in Democracy and Cultural Pluralism. He was accepted to New York University but turned it down because he was busy with his breakout role in Roger Dodger in 2002. Around the same time, Eisenberg made his first television appearance as Kenny Green in Get Real with Anne Hathaway who played onscreen sibling Meghan Green.
Jeremy Irons - Alfred Pennyworth
Jeremy Irons was born in Cowes, Isle of Wight off the south coast of England. Originally, Irons wanted to become a veterinarian surgeon before he decided to pursue a career in acting. He attended the Sherborne School in Dorset from 1962 to 1966 where he practiced his favorite sport of horse riding. During this time, he became the drummer and harmonica player in a four-man school band called the Four Pillars of Wisdom. He then trained at the Bristol Old Vic School for two years where he performed in contemporary dramas and Shakespeare. In 1969, Irons began his acting career and appeared in numerous West End theatre productions. In 1984, he made his first appearance on Broadway in The Real Thing and won a Tony Award for Best Actor. You may also recognize his voice from his role in The Lion King as the villain Scar.
Gal Gadot - Wonder Woman
Gal Gadot was born in Rosh HaAyin, Israel and originally wanted to become a lawyer instead of an actress. When she was 18-years-old, she won the 2004 Miss Israel competition and went on to compete in the Miss Universe competition. It was around this time that she joined the Israeli Army where she completed two years as an enlisted soldier and combat instructor of the Israel Defense Forces. Once her time with the military was up, she began her studies in law. After completing her first year at the university, she auditioned for the role of the Bond girl in Quantum of Solace. Although she did not get the part, the casting director gave her the part of Gisele in Fast & Furious in 2009. Fitting it seems, as the character Gisele also had a military background in the film and Gadot went on to do all of her own stunts.
