David Fincher is making another film, and he’s looking at Ben Affleck to star. Fincher is adapting Gillian Flynn’s novel Gone Girl, and Affleck is interested in starring, but first he has to work around his busy schedule.
Affleck is in pre-production for Live By Night, where he’ll once again take the director’s chair. Warner Bros. wants the film to get going soon since Argo was such success, but it needs to be pushed back in order for Affleck to do Fincher’s movie. The two sides are working to get Gone Girl into production in the fall so Affleck can begin directing Live By Night in January.
Gone Girl is the story of a woman who disappears on her fifth wedding anniversary. Affleck would play the husband who is suspected of having a part in his wife’s disappearance.
There’s still a chance that scheduling won’t work out, but if that happens, you can see Affleck in Runner, Runner this September.
