Changes are afoot with Rentaghost, the forthcoming feature-film adaptation of the hit BBC comedy series about an employment agency for the deceased. Variety reports that Russell Brand, who signed on to star in the film all the way back in December of 2010, has departed the project. (No word on whether he was pushed out, but if he was, I blame Arthur.) The always dependable Ben Stiller has been hired to take over his role. Rentaghost, which recently changed hands from Warner Bros. to Fox, is still in the early stages of development, with the writing duo of Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (Night at the Museum, Balls of Fury) currently at work on the script.
