Betty White Not Actually in Men In Black III

Hollywood.comJust last week, E! Online breathlessly reported that currently-in-vogue personage Betty White and decidedly less trendy former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger had signed on to join Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and the rest of the cast in Men in Black III, the production of which is currently underway in Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, as it turns out, the former Golden Girl is not involved in MIB 3, nor has she ever been.  “Where did that come from?” she asked at last night’s BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards, where she was being honored.  “All these rumors come up but there is absolutely no truth to any of it.”

Perhaps more unfortunately, Nicole Scherzinger – who started the rumor by telling reporters last week that she would be gearing up for a December shoot with White by her side – is still in the film as a character named Lilly.  “She’s like a small villain role,” Scherzinger gushed.  “I’m so excited because I get to die.  I make an appearance.  I say a couple of lines and then I die.”

The former Pussycat Dolls singer – sans White – joins an ensemble cast that includes Josh Brolin (as a younger version of Lee Jones), actor-comedian Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson, and Alec Baldwin.  Franchise director Barry Sonnenfeld returns to direct.

So just to reiterate, in case it was unclear – Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls: excited that she gets to die in Men in Black III.  Betty White: not actually in Men in Black III.  Nicole Scherzinger: misinformed and/or compulsive liar.  Alright, moving on.
