Bliss n Eso ‘devastated’ by actor’s death on music video set

Australian group Bliss N Eso have been left “devastated” by the death of actor Johann Ofner during the filming of their music video on Monday (23Jan17).
The hip hop stars were not present at the Brooklyn Standard bar in Brisbane, Australia when Ofner was left fatally injured after a prop gun loaded with blanks discharged during the filming of their Friends Like You video.
Their management issued a statement on Monday to confirm the incident and the band posted their own on Facebook message on Tuesday, explaining they didn’t release his name at the time to make sure his relatives had been contacted first.
“We are devastated about the tragic passing of Johann Ofner. Out of respect to Johann’s family, friends and the on-going investigation we don’t feel it is appropriate for us to make further comment at this time,” they wrote.
“We continue to express our support and condolences to the family and friends of those so deeply affected by this sad event and appreciate your on-going understanding in this incredibly difficult time.”
According to Billboard, their management also shared a fact sheet to clear up inaccuracies that had been reported. On the sheet, they clarified the gun was not loaded with live ammunition and the exact cause of Ofner’s fatal injury was yet to be confirmed.
The police are also investigating the incident.
