Blow drug lord out of prison for operation

George Jung, whose life story was brought to the big screen in the 2001 Hollywood movie, is currently serving 15 years behind bars on drug smuggling charges at a prison in Texas.

It has now been revealed Jung was allowed out of jail in December (11) and transported to a local medical facility so doctors could remove a potentially cancerous mole from his nose, according to TMZ.com.

The website reports Jung remained shackled during the operation and was sent straight back to prison afterwards.

He is due for release in 2014.
