According to Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel’s Iron Man 3 crossed the $1 billion threshold at the global box office on May 16, in 23 days of global release. This is the second Marvel Studios film and the sixth Walt Disney Studios release to reach this milestone. (Disney’s other billion-dollar films are Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story 3, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Marvel’s The Avengers.)
In addition, Iron Man 3 crossed the $300 million threshold at the domestic box office on May 16, its 14th day of release. It is the 9th Disney release to reach this milestone.
