Synopsis

Depression-era union organizer 'Boxcar' Bertha Thompson is a woman with lofty ideals. She thinks she has met her perfect man when she comes across rabble-rouser 'Big' Bill Shelly in a union battle in Arkansas. The two team up to take on a corrupt railroad company, but as their idealism slip away they find themselves robbing trains for profit and on the run from the law.
