Brad Pitt in Talks for ‘The Gray Man’

7799900.jpgVariety reports that Brad Pitt is in talks to play a CIA agent-turned-fugitive assassin in The Gray Man, a spy thriller that James Gray (We Own the Night) is attached to direct. Before you sarcastically laud the novelty of a CIA agent-turned-fugitive assassin spy thriller, know that Adam Cozard’s screenplay for the film, based on the bestselling novel by Mark Greaney, made the 2010 Black List, Hollywood’s annual survey of the industry’s best unproduced scripts.

Pitt and Gray had been set to team for an adaptation of The Lost City of Z, David Grann’s true-life account of adventure Percy Fawcett’s hapless quest to find the fabled El Dorado, but the project fell apart when Paramount and Gray reportedly couldn’t come to terms over money issues.
