‘Demolition’ takes a pretty simple idea of tragedy and has the main character take a totally different and unusual approach to getting over it. Davis Michael’s (Gyllenhaal) wife dies in a car accident and Davis struggles with dealing with the tragedy. Davis sends a complaint letter to a vending machine company, and customer service rep Karen (Watts) reaches out to him. Davis decides that in order to rebuild his life, he needs to destroy his previous one.
