Bridges and Feldman push for child protection bill

The duo is urging lawmakers to support a bill requiring agents, managers, photographers and any employee with unsupervised access to youngsters to undergo a criminal background check and provide fingerprints.

Both Bridges, who played Willis on Diff’rent Strokes, and The Goonies star Feldman claim to have been molested by older men while they were working in the entertainment industry as adolescents.

Bridges tells the Los Angeles Times, “We’re not doing enough to protect children, period… I cannot imagine why even one politician would object to it passing. Without these types of precautions, Hollywood will continue to attract paedophiles with an unmonitored playing field to commit their inhumane acts.”

Feldman adds, “This is a very good idea. I think it should have been implemented years ago.”
