Bryan Singer told the Associated Press that he’s interested in making another X-Men movie and has already been discussing the possibility with 20th Century Fox.

The director helmed the first two installments in the series, X-Men and X-Men United, but walked away from the third film (directed by Brett Ratner) so he could direct the sincere but unfortunate, Superman Returns.

After Singer had watched the new prequel, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which explored the origins of Hugh Jackman’s character, Singer said he began to talk with Fox studios about another spin-off saying “I’m still looking to possibly returning to the ‘X-Men’ franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it. I love Hugh Jackman. I love the cast. The excitement about working in science fiction and fantasy is – the stories, if they are good, are about the human condition.”

If anyone that still cares about the X-Men franchise after having watched the last two films, they should be thrilled at the possibility of having Singer back in the director’s chair
