Musician BUDDY EMMONS has died, aged 78.
The pedal steel guitar player passed away on Wednesday (29Jul15), but no further details surrounding his death were available as WENN went to press.
Emmons moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1955 aged 18 after late country music veteran Little Jimmy Dickens asked the youngster to play in his band. He moved on to perform with Ernest Tubb, Ray Price, and Roger Miller, released his own solo albums, and opened his own steel guitar-making company.
He also played for the Everly Brothers for 10 years, did session work with Willie Nelson, and occasionally performed on country radio show Prairie Home Companion.
Emmons was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1981.
