Valérian and Laureline is a french graphic novel that came out in 1967 and has sold over 10 million copies and translated into 21 different languages since it’s inception. There is literally no better person to take the helm than sci-fi and french director Luc Besson.
In the film Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special ops and time traveling agents sent to protect the universe. Valerian constantly flirts with Laureline to no avail, it’s their thing. Commander Arün Filitt (Clive Owen) sends them to the intergalactic city of Alpha, a city that is forever changing and expanding with different species from everywhere thought out the universe. Unfortunately, not everyone shares the same views and objectives, much like everywhere else.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will be released on July 21, 2017.
