The battle of Independence Day happened 20 years ago, in real life and for the film sequel, ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’. The humans have gotten together and fully prepared for if the aliens were to return, but was it enough?
Spoiler, it wasn’t enough. The aliens return, bigger, louder, and more dangerous. Luckily President Whitmore (Bill Pullman), David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum), Jasmine (Vivica A. Fox) and Director Roland Emmerich have returned from the first film. The star of ID4, Captain Steve Hiller (Will Smith) dies testing a new fighter jet. They are joined by President Whitmore’s daughter Patricia (Maika Monroe), Jake Morrison (Liam Hemsworth), and Dylan Hiller (Jessie Usher) to fight the aliens once again. In the interview above, the cast and director update us on what else is new for the sequel.
Will the humans find a way to triumph over the aliens? More importantly, will Bill Pullman deliver another speech as good as the one 20 years ago?
Only one way to find out.
Independence Day Resurgence releases Friday, June 24, 2016.
