We thought we’d seen everything when Channing Tatum performed as Beyoncé and Elsa on Lip Sync Battle, but apparently we were wrong. The hunky star is in talks to star in a remake of Splash opposite 22 Jump Street actress Jillian Bell. The original 1984 film starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah was the story of a romance between a young man (Hanks) and a mermaid (Hannah) who saved him from drowning as a young boy. Of course, the 21st century remake is going to have a bit of a spin on it.
This time around, Tatum will be slipping on the mermaid tail and showing of his abs for the world to see. There is no word yet on the release of this film, but we’d guess the Splash remake will be coming to the big screen in 2018. We’re just hoping Channing Tatum doesn’t go platinum blonde for the role.
