Between Kick-Ass 2 hitting theaters in August and the Carrie remake coming out just before Halloween, Chloe Moretz is keeping busy. And now she’s signed on to star in If I Stay.
MGM recently acquired the rights to adapt Gayle Forman’s 2009 young adult novel. It focuses on a teenage girl (who will be played by Moretz) who is in a coma after a serious car accident. While in the hospital she has an out-of-body experience, and she must decide whether to continue living a life more difficult than she could have imagined or to just give up.
The film is moving forward with additional casting and is set to begin production in late October in Vancouver. R.J. Cutler will direct.
