Comic Con Hosts A “Fright Night” Screening, Panel & Contest

Fright NightThis year’s San Diego Comic Con is featuring a sneak preview of the upcoming Fright Night: a 3D reimagining of the 1985 horror cult classic, this time around to star Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The convention will host a panel on Friday, July 22, featuring these stars as well as director Craig Gillespie and writer Marti Noxon. Additionally, fans will be able to attend a screening of the film as well as a “fan appreciation party.”

Comic-Con and Yahoo! Movies are also hosting a contest, “The Friday Night Feeding Frenzy,” beginning on Friday, June 24. The prize of the contest is a VIP trip for two to this year’s San Diego Comic Con. To win, fans must employ blogs, Facebook statuses and twitter in to check-in to events and share movie content—doing so will earn fans points. At the end of each week between July 1st and August 19th, the premiere of Fright Night, prizes will be awarded to fans who possess the highest amount of points. For more information, visit

Staff editor Michael Arbeiter’s natural state of being can best be described as “mild panic attack.” His earliest memories of growing up in Queens, New York, involve nighttime conversations with a voice from his bedroom wall (the jury’s still out on what that was all about) and a love for classic television that spawned from the very first time he was allowed to watch “The Munsters.” Attending college at SUNY Binghamton, a 20-year-old Michael learned two things: that he could center his future on this love for TV and movies, and that dragons never actually existed — he was kind of late in the game on that one.
