Daniel Radcliffe in ‘no rush’ to return to Harry Potter franchise

Daniel Radcliffe is certain the Harry Potter franchise is doing “just fine” without him.

The 30-year-old actor played the young wizard in the movie adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s hit novels from 2001 to 2011, but has yet to appear in spin-off series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or the hit stage show Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Speaking to Variety, Daniel insisted he “doesn’t think” he’ll be back to reprise his beloved role, as he reflected on how the franchise has moved forward without him and original co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

“I don’t like to say no to things, but it’s not something that I’m rushing to do. I feel like those films have moved on and they’re doing just fine without us,” he said.

“I’m happy to keep it that way. I like what my life is now. I’m not saying that I’ll never go back into any franchise, but I like the flexibility that I have with my career now,” The Woman in Black star continued.

“And I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m signed up for one series for years in advance.”
