Danny Boyle To Direct ‘Trance’

Danny BoyleTo say Danny Boyle enjoys being busy might be an understatement. I think he feeds on it. The man is in charge of staging and directing the opening ceremonies of the London Olympics in 2012. But before he gets on that, he wants to film another feature, just for the heck of it. The project is called Trance and centers on an art heist gone wrong. Like his last two movies Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, it’s modestly budgeted in the $10-$20 million range. Of course, he’ll just do most of the photography before working on the ceremonies and then once the games are over in August ’12, he’ll pick the film back up like nothing happened and hopefully release it in March ’13.

Look, I’m sure Boyle is confident in his work with the games but after watching Beijing’s opening three years ago? I wouldn’t sleep wondering how I could top that. But I guess Boyle doesn’t have much to fear since the Doctor will be lighting the torch anyway.
