‘Dark Shadows’ Posters: Johnny Depp and Eva Green Go VERY Retro

Following the magnificent new trailer for Tim Burton’s upcoming movie Dark Shadows, here are a few more reasons to get excited about what looks to be Burton’s best movie in years. The people behind Dark Shadows have created character posters for the entire starring cast: vampire Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), his “disappointing” 1970s-era descendants (Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Grace Moretz, Jonny Lee Miller) and their kooky live-in psychiatrist (Helena Bonham Carter, of course), as well as the immortal witch (Eva Green) who condemned him to life as a monster.

The style and sentiment of the new posters confirm the ideas that the trailer set into motion: this is a movie Burton was meant to make. Dark, macabre themes mixing seamlessly with goofy, oddball humor to create what looks like a heartfelt story. It might be too much of a stretch to say that these posters promise all that, but they certainly set the mood for exactly what audiences want in a Burton flick. Dark Shadows looks like it’ll set the great filmmaker back into his natural state.
