Sundance Film Festival darling Dear White People has a new trailer and it’s everything we could have hoped for. Hilarious references to weave (not “weaved”), a perfect, succinct explanation as to why reverse racism arguments do not work, and a white guy who believes he was nicknamed “Black Mitch” (he wasn’t).

In a recent interview Tessa Thompson (who plays the lead, Samantha White) said that, while the title of the movie is “purposefully provocative,” audiences will be surprised at how “lighthearted” the story is. Dear White People hits theatres October 17, 2014.
