Death of an Angel | 1986
After her husband is killed and her daughter crippled in a car accident, Deacon Grace McKenzie's life changes forever. First, Grace decides to become a priest in the church. Soon after this, Grace's unhappy daughter disappears, and it is assumed that she has run away. Six weeks later, Grace discovers a man sitting in her car who tells her that he knows the whereabouts of her daughter and will take her there if she pays him a large sum of money. The man takes Grace to a remote place near the border of Mexico, to a religious group lead by Father Angel, who appears to have unusual powers. The father has a figure of Jesus on the cross that sheds actual blood from its wounds when the priest prays. When thieves steal the cross and the money that was to build Father Angel's church, Grace vows to help him, hoping that she will soon be able to recover her daughter and go home.
