Margin Call, the indie corporate thriller with a star-packed ensemble cast, has just added another A-lister: Demi Moore will play the chief risk management officer in the film, which follows ‘the desperate maneuverings of eight people in a 24 hour period during the early stages of the [2008] Wall Street financial crisis.’
Moore joins Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Simon Baker, Zachary Quinto, Penn Badgley, and Stanley Tucci in Margin Call, with a script from newcomer J.C. Chandor, who will also direct. Principal photography on the film begins today.
I’ve got high hopes for this film: you don’t assemble a cast with the likes of Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey and the vastly underrated Oscar-nominated Stanley Tucci without an absolutely top-notch script. While Chandor’s only other directing credit is for a 2004 short (Despacito) featuring Will Arnett, Margin Call’s talented ensemble represents a huge vote of confidence for the novice filmmaker.
