There is so much happening in both the DC Comics and Marvel Cinematic Universes that it’s been SUPER hard to keep up with everything. Though we’ve finally got confirmation on Ben Affleck‘s upcoming standalone Batman film, tentatively titled, The Batman, there is still a ton about the film that’s up in the air. Recently, Warner Bros. confirmed that Sofia Vergara‘s hunky hubby Joe Manganiello will be playing Batman’s nemesis, Deathstroke in the film. However, little else has been confirmed.
With some of the hints that were sprinkled throughout Suicide Squad, many DC Comic fans had hope that we’d finally get to see Batman’s longtime sidekick, Robin in the films. According to Manganiello, it looks like we might finally know who will be stunting in that iconic red and yellow suit.
Manganelli posted a picture with the lovely Anna Kendrick to Instagram with the hashtags, #Deathstroke and #Robin #MoheganSun20. Could this mean that Kendrick will be playing the Carrie Kelly version of Robin in The Batman?
If you’re not up to speed in the DC Comics world, Carrie Kelly’s Robin is one of the newest incarnations of Batman’s longtime sidekick. In the comics, we first meet her at age 13, when Batman saves her from a mutant gang. She grows up idolizing the caped crusader and he ends up training her as his protege!
Personally, we hope Manganiello isn’t messing with us! We adore Anna Kendrick and with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Scarlett Johansson‘s long-awaited standalone Black Widow film, we are living for female superheroes!
What do you guys think?! Would Anna Kendrick slay as Robin? Let us know in the comments below.
