Disney Wants Will Smith To Star In Tim Burton’s Live-Action ‘Dumbo’

Disney is in full swing with their live-action pieces and it looks like Dumbo is next on their list with director Tim Burton at the helm. Though we can’t quite imagine what a super dark live-action Dumbo is going to look like, we do know that Disney wants Will Smith to star in the film.

Will Smith’s latest film Collateral Beauty wasn;t exactly a hit so hopefully, Dumbo, which will be scripted by Ehren Kruger is right up his alley. Smith certainly wouldn’t be the first major actor to star in one of Disney’s live action flicks. Angelina Jolie starred in Maleficent, Johnny Depp was in Alice in Wonderland and Emma Stone will star in 101 Dalmatians as villainess Cruella De Ville.

Interestingly enough, if casting is confirmed, Will Smith might be one of the first Black actors to star in Tim Burton’s films. Samuel L. Jackson had a major role in his 2016 film, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.
