It seems that if Dwayne Johnson isn’t making kids movies, he’s kicking a** and taking names. And with his new film, it’s definitely the latter. This movie may be about a family, but don’t expect any of those sort of wacky family hijinks!
In Snitch, Johnson stars as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug crime wherein his mandatory minimum prison sentence is 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son (at all costs!), he makes a deal with the U.S. attorney (Susan Sarandon) to work as an undercover informant (a lowdown dirty snitch!) in order to infiltrate a drug cartel (run by Benjamin Bratt) on a mission.
Risking everything—including his family and his own life—to save his son from wrongful imprisonment, Johnson becomes a transporter for the gang’s big drug haul. Do they trust him? Is it a set-up? Will he lose his or his family’s lives? So many possibilities! Sounds sorta stressful, doesn’t it?
If you enjoy action, drugs, and deception, this may just be the movie for you. Check out the newly-released trailer (just out today!) below.
