They Don’t Make Movies Like This Anymore.
Los Angeles is for the dreamers, but it’s a tough place to actually “make it”. Mia (Emma Stone) is an aspiring actress who just failed yet another audition. Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) is a dedicated Jazz musician, who just got fired. The two fall in love basically instantly in ‘La La Land’. Eventually, though, their dreams as success start to happen, it pulls the lovers apart, and the two must choose between their dreams and each other.
The film is by writer and director Damien Chazelle, best known for the incredible Whiplash. Musicals were all the rage back in the 1920s -50s, but haven’t been made much since then. Damien wrote the film when he was a student at Harvard, and making it in Hollywood seemed like just a dream, but with the success of Whiplash, his dream became a reality.
La La Land releases on December 16, 2016.
