Eve’s in-laws used to call her The Grinch

Rapper/actress Eve’s in-laws used to call her “The Grinch”, because she was so unaccustomed to celebrating Christmas.
The Barbershop star didn’t experience a traditional festive gathering as a child due to her grandmother’s religious beliefs, so she was stunned when she first joined Maximillion Cooper’s folks for the holidays in the U.K.
“I actually grew up not celebrating Christmas, really…, because my grandmother was (a) Jehovah’s Witness and we all lived together,” she explained on her U.S. show The Talk.
“My husband now though, I mean, it’s big for Brits… so when we were first dating, my first Christmas with his family, they called me The Grinch! I actually had a napkin at my table setting that said, ‘The Grinch’, because I was like, ‘What are we doing? What is going on?'”
Eve, who recently celebrated her third wedding anniversary with the Gumball 3000 rally founder, has since learned to love Christmas, especially when they spend it with Maximillion’s four children from his first marriage.
She added, “Now, obviously for my stepchildren…, I’m excited for it and I really get into it.”
Since meeting Cooper, the star has also learned how to really show her love for her man – because he always treats her like a queen.
“I’m not a romantic, but I’m gonna get better,” she vowed.
Recalling the millionaire entrepreneur’s most romantic gift, she shared, “When we were first dating, one of our first big trips away, he took me to China, he took me to the Great Wall. The reason why he did that was because one morning, I woke up and said to him, ‘Oh my god, I just had the best dream, I was… on top of the Great Wall!’
“He was like, ‘OK…’ and a few months later, that was our trip. He took me away. He’s good.”
